Cowboy Church

The Cowboy Church Vision Came to Life at  Wildwood Stables on September 30, 2007.  Meetings are on the last Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Alyea officiating.

The majestic 200 year old sycamore tree provided the perfect stage for the first Cowboy Church in Cumberland County.  Team Christian Cowboy Minister, Stephen Alyea , opened the service by explaining the mission of the church and the cowboy way.

Cowboys are an integral pary of American history and our way of life.   Some cowboys might not feel like they belong in a conventinal church setting with walls and rituals.  Cowboy church is usually held outdoors or in a tent, being close to nature and close to God.  There are no restrictions or expectations of joining or belonging and no judgments--ever.

With the gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the scyamore tree, one of the cowboy ministers pondered whether the tree longed as a seedling to become a testimony of God's grace and love...that she waited so long to become the magnificent tree who would spread her arms as Christ did, to protect and shield God's children as they worshiped.

God brought us Betty and Gary Overstreet all the way from California to perform.  Betty is an inspirational writer and singer.

Cowboy Church is not an ordinary church.  Sermons are often show and tell.  One of the pastors who is a ferrier, demonstrated with a piece of rebar how God molds us and shapes us into beautiful works of art.

Come join us in worship!  It is an awesome experience!
